Day 5 Sunday in Pavia and nearby

A sleep-in for everyone, then a drive Oltrepo (beyond the Po)

to a small restaurant recommended to Dani and Charlotte.

It was about 50 km from Pavia.

We crossed the Po at its confluence with the Ticino, which runs through Pavia.

The last 10 km via narrow winding roads along ridges between Frazione of villages.

Charlotte and I had pasta, Dani mainly eats meat, here 3 varieties thinly sliced.

We had a half-bottle of pinot gris (very dry, similar to shiraz) and took the rest home. The food was interesting, the presentation exceptional. Then some photo stops

and a slow drive back to Pavia,

past Charlotte's office (top floor).

Later we went to the Orto Botanico Dipartmento di Ecologica, where Dani works, to see their roses and some other areas that are not normally open to the public.

Dani's window is the last in orange near centre.

Plane tree 320 years old.

Rose garden at the end of Dani's building.

Location:Pavia, Italy
