Day 7 Gaiola to Le Fugeret

Another brilliant sunny day. One night's rain in Pavia, and a cloudy morning following - otherwise great weather all the way so far.

Finallly made a spare hour and set up the little JVC video recorder on the tank.

The image wobbles a bit, but I can reduce that a lot by holding the camera with my left hand. That does mean slower riding while filming, so less fun, but I have to think of my public, and my memories.

Good movies made. Riding to the Colle della Maddelena (Italian side) up the valley of the R. Stura to Jausiers and on to Barcelonette.

As you can see, the Tour used to be even harder.

Planned to go south from Barcelonette via Col de La Bonette, but Ferme.

So an alternative was found. Originally after Bonette I was doing Beuil gorges, but the new route took me over Col de La Cayolle at 2326 m, and was great scenery and great riding.

Into Le Fugeret about 5, with a few spits of rain over the last 10 km. Ancient town built onto a hillside as the photos below show.

This last is the gite I stayed in.
