Preparations made
Bike hired, accommodation booked. Here's the overall route planned, starting and finishing in Schierstein, near Frankfurt. H is Pavia, where I'll be visiting niece Charlotte and Dani.
Leaving Oz Sunday morning; Monday in Singapore; Tuesday in Frankfurt; Wednesday I'll pick up a BMW R1200RT (just like ours, I hope) from Motorrad Tullius in Schierstein-Wiesbaden, about 40 km west of Frankfurt. Then Trier, Xonrupt-Longemer, Ferney-Voltaire, Pavia, Gaiola, Le Fugeret, Rians, Glanum, Orange, Sardonne, Ugine, Leysin, Innertkirchen, Filzbach, Bad Krozingen, Pforzheim, and back to Schierstein. Then India . . . .

Wow, I am so jealous, a great itinerary through most of my favourite parts of Europe.
